Aug 25th 2021
The Allen Lund Co. has acquired Des Moines Truck Brokers Inc.
Des Moines Truck Brokers was co-founded in 1969 by Capital City Fruit founders Joseph M. Comito and Joseph T. Comito with James A. DeMatteis (Jim Sr.). Throughout its 50-year partnership, Des Moines Truck Brokers has given Capital City Fruit access to its large base of carriers, as well as professional expertise in third-party transportation logistics and traffic management.
The acquisition, effective Feb. 17, 2020, brings The Allen Lund Co.’s “exceptional reputation and operational excellence together with DMTB’s award-winning proven track record with their product-diverse customer base,” according to a press release.
“I can’t think of another company in this industry that we align with better than ALC,” said Jimmy DeMatteis, DMTB president and CEO. “Throughout this process, I have found myself energized and excited to see what we can do as a unified team.”
The acquisition will have a positive effect on Capital City Fruit and DMTB’s partnership by providing a broader competitive carrier base and menu of services. Capital City Fruit is proud to support DMTB through this acquisition and is excited to see what the two companies will achieve as one.
